Office2010Box
Now Microsoft Office 2010 is fully final and ready for sale. The event of Office 2010 has been a long road and with all that time, Microsoft's Office team been hard at work to incorporate a large number of new features into the brand new model to assist make Office even better than ever. The staff strongly centered on the pace of the software as well as including neat options, like grabbing screenshot in Word, and the ribbon interface in Outlook.

With this overview of the Office 2010 RTM, I hope to spotlight several of the new features in Office 2010 that may affects you, the top user. Perhaps a very powerful change right off the bat in Office 2010 is
speed. Beforehand, there was many complaints about sluggish loading speed in Outlook 2007 and earlier, and in Outlook 2010, the loading pace has been immensely increased. After trying Outlook 2010 I can say it is lightning fast, even when utilizing giant PST files filled with a whole lot of e-mails. On the subject of all of the other applications in Office 2010, like Phrase, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote, all of them load extremely quick and in-program performance is really fantastic.

The Ribbon
Microsoft introduced the ribbon menu back in Office 2007 to all of its programs except Outlook and OneNote. Some customers complained saying it hindered productivity and made issues laborious to find, but most embraced it, including ourselves. In Office 2010, Microsoft introduced the ribbon menu to Outlook and OneNote and also offered a solution to customize the looks and options in the ribbon.

Backstage Menu
Again in Office 2007, Microsoft did away with the normal "File" menu on the top of every program and replaced it when the new Office menu that was activated by the Office emblem in a circle button. In 2010, they did away with that and now simply made a "File" tab with the background color of the program you are in, so Word has blue, Excel has inexperienced, etc.

Once you click the File tab, you are brought to the new "backstage" view which takes over full display and supplies you with a menu to create new information, open existing information, print information, share files, etc. This is primarily where you may be performing all non-formatting duties, resembling inserting photos, which is done from the ribbon menu. Think of backstage as being the old "File" menu in Office 2003 or earlier and as the Office menu in Office 2007.
BackstageSharing
Office 2010 consists of many new methods to save and share your information with others around the world. Of course you may nonetheless save them via a traditional file in your laptop's hard drive as well as sending them via an e-mail attachment. Nonetheless, you can now save them on to your Home windows account directly from the backstage "Save & Send" area. You merely just enter your Windows ID and it will sign you in and it can save you your file without leaving the program. This opens the door to new collaboration options and methods to put your records data the place you may access them from any laptop you might find yourself on.
SharingPhrase 2010 additionally now lets you take display pictures right from within Phrase of any windows that you at present have open and paste them directly into a Word document. That is notably helpful for writing tutorials because you'll be able to embrace display screen photographs of the motion you are displaying tips on how to perform.
classshotWhen you set up Office 2010 on a tablet PC, you may mechanically get entry to inking options in Word, PowerPoint, and naturally, OneNote. The picture under shows the Ink tab on the ribbon that automatically appears in Word whenever you begin utilizing your pill's pen.theinkingProtected View
Microsoft has added a couple of security measures to Office 2010. The one which users will mostly typically come across is once they open a downloaded document in Phrase 2010. If you do so for the primary time, the ribbon is hidden and all modifying can also be disabled. A red Protected View notification seems letting you know the file was downloaded from the Internet and is probably not secure to open. You may then click on "allow editing" and Phrase will return to normal.

PowerPoint 2010
PowerPoint is used closely in lots of people's lives, from faculty displays to company earnings presentations. Microsoft has been making PowerPoint adaptable for these completely different uses and has succeeded in making it simple to use too. The very first thing that Microsoft did to PowerPoint 2010 that needed to be accomplished for a while now is updating the slide animations and transitions. There are plenty of new slide transitions that Microsoft put effort and time into creating and what they did add appears professional and fits.

Users have been in a position to embed video into displays for a very long time, however there hasn't been a option to simply edit them till now. In PowerPoint 2010, now you can edit embedded video right from inside PowerPoint itself without using an external video editing program. Whenever you click on a video that is been embedded right into a slide, two new ribbon tabs appear. The primary tab, Format, helps you to management the videos brightness, distinction, coloration, and magnificence (comparable to borders, shapes, etc.). The opposite tab, Edit, comprises the entire video modifying tools. As soon as edited, you can compress the video to minimize the presentation's file size. Microsoft Research’s 3D multi-touch Technology

Multi-touch interaction has always been a dream of the future. Movies like Ironman 2 and Minority Report, present 3D multi-touch systems as an advanced technology available only in the world of science fiction. But Microsoft Research is turning fantasy into reality. At the 2010Computer-Human Interaction Conference MSR (Microsoft Research) revealed that it has been working on for about a year now that has been dubbed the “Pinch-the-Sky Dome”.

The Pinch-the-Sky Dome projects Omni-directional images in a dome that will enclose the user. The user can navigate through the virtual space with multi-touch gestures. This system uses an infrared
camera that can see where the image is projected, that way the user does not need to wear gloves, use a tracking device, or be limited to working on a flat surface.

Technology like this has many potential uses, such as looking at astronomical images from telescopes. You could also view large panoramic photos and visualizations as though you were actually there. Video games involving first person shooters would be amazing.

The “Pinch-the-Sky Dome” is still under construction, you can see in demonstrations that the controller stays close to the projector while making gestures, MSR is looking into enabling more natural movements like simply pointing to a virtual object to navigate to it. For a better overview of this system please view the CNN video report below.

HTC files a complaint against Apple, wants iPhone out of USA

Today HTC filed a complaint against Apple with the United States International Trade Commission. According to HTC, Apple has infringed five HTC patents and its law department insists on halting the importation and sales of the iPhone, iPod and iPad in the USA.
As usual halting the sales on a top product(s) is a standard request in these cases. It's interesting that HTC hasn't filed a lawsuit on that matter yet, it's just that complaint to the Trade Commission.
According to Gizmodo the five related patents are:
-two for power management
-two concerning personalized phone dialers
-one over a phone dialer with easy memory access
As you may have heard, Apple is already suing HTC on patent matters. HTC have responded they are ready to meet in court. No matter who wins this, it won't be easy and surely it will take a while.

HOW TO: Get Notified When Someone Hacks Your Facebook

Facebook just announced a tool that notifies you by e-mail or SMS text message when someone logs into your Facebook profile from an unknown computer.

The idea is to help you recognize when a hacker has broken into your account so you can respond quickly by either changing your password (if that’s still possible) or contacting Facebook.

Once you enable the notifications, you’ll be required to identify each computer you use to log in when you first use it and choose whether or not it’s a private or public machine. You’ll be able to see a history of registrations from machines potentially used by hackers, and of course those hackers will be forced to type something into the identification field to get in, so you should be able to tell whether it was just a login that you forgot or not.

Here’s a quick guide to turning this feature on and using it.

Step 1: Go to Account Settings and Enable Notifications

When you’re logged into Facebook, you’ll see the word “Account” in the top right corner of the browser window. Click there to get a drop-down menu of options, then click on “Account Settings,” as pictured below.

You’ll end up looking at a page that lists ways you can customize your account, including “Name,” “Password,” “Linked Accounts” and “more.” As long as you don’t navigate away from the “Settings” tab, you’ll see “Account Security” close to the bottom of the list. Click “change” on the right to show the following option:

Check “Yes” when you see the prompt, “Would you like to receive notifications for logins from new devices?” Then click “Save.” The feature is turned on. Now we’ll show you how to use it.

Step 2: Log In and Register Your Computer

The settings won’t be customizable until you register the computer you’re logged in with, so you’ll have to first log out and then log back in. You can do this from the “Accounts” button in the top-right corner, as we mentioned before. When you log in again, you’ll see a screen titled “Register this computer.”

Type the name of the computer in (it can be anything you want as long as it’s something you’ll recognize and remember), and choose whether you want Facebook to remember this computer or not.

Facebook suggests a good rule of thumb: If the computer is a public one (like one you’d use at a library, a shared work computer or a machine in your school’s computer lab), leave the box unchecked so it will have to be registered each time a new login occurs, leading to an email or text notification.

If it’s a machine you use every day, then go ahead and check the box; you probably don’t want to receive an email every time you log into Facebook from a safe place!

Now that your computer is registered, you can see more options when you revisit the “Account Settings” page where you first enabled the notifications. You’ll see a history of registrations; it won’t record every time you log into a computer that’s already registered, but it will record every new registration, which should include at least the first time any hacker logs in.

You can check or uncheck the option to have the immediate notifications sent to your cell phone via text message in addition to the basic email option.

Two More Things to Know

Keep in mind that the certificate that identifies your computer when it logs into Facebook is stored by your browser in a library of cookies. These cookies might end up getting cleared for any number of reasons, so don’t worry if you have to re-register your regular machines from time to time.

Facebook also implemented a new feature that asks security questions (like identifying your birthdate or who your first kiss was) when unrecognized and suspicious logins occur. If the would-be hacker can’t answer the question, he or she is out of luck.

New ULV i3 , i5 and i7 Intel CPUs for ultra-thin laptops on the way

The new chips are designed specifically for usage in ultra-thin and portable laptops – the niche between the standard laptops and the netbooks. They use 32-nanometer manufacturing process and pack just one core but are capable of handling two threads.
As usual for the i3 and i5 product family the new chips will have integrated graphic core. This combined with the more capable CPU, RAM and the bigger screen should allow the manufacturing of ultra-thin laptop with more power than a standard netbook in an equally compact shell.
The latest low-voltage i3 and i5 processor will be less-powerful than their standard siblings ($133-$292), which means they will cost less. The launch is scheduled for Q2 of this year.

Google Maps gains Earth view, lets you gawk at 3D buildings in your browser

Google really like to keep as many things running in the browser as they can – the latest enhancement to what you can do in a browser is browse Google Earth content straight from the Google Maps page…

The new Earth view in Google Maps requires a plug-in to run though, we’ve still got some way to go before those JavaScript 3D standards are finalized. That plug-in has been out for about two years but its testing period has ended and it has been moved to its rightful place – besides the Map and Satellite views in Google Maps.
The plug-in handles the 3D goodies associate with Google Earth – 3D buildings and terrain, tilting the camera and smooth zooming. That won’t put Earth out of business (which can show custom GPS tracks, create tours, do flight simulations and so on), but it does break Google Maps out of flatland.

Google also offers views of the Moon and Mars, but to view those in 3D you’d need the desktop app, the web UI doesn’t support it. But I think it’s a feature that may soon be added – perhaps once Google gets feedback from how the Earth view fares in Google Maps.

Lorry driver builds himself a Lamborghini

A Chinese lorry driver has built himself a Lamborghini supercar in his spare time - for just £2,000.

It took Chen Jinmiao, 25, of Binzhou, Hunan province, a year to build the replica sportscar, reports the Red Net.

"I downloaded the drawings from the internet, and then bought materials from the market," he said.

Chen, who has only a basic school education, had always dreamt of owning a Lamborghini but knew he would never be able to afford a real one.

It is a fully working car - and even has the famous wing doors - but its top speed is a little over 50mph, compared to a real Lamborghini's 200mph-plus.

Chen said his family and friends tried to discourage him from building the car.

"But they couldn't stop me, as I did it all with my own savings," he explained.

He is now waiting to see whether traffic officials will give him permission to drive the car on the road.

"If they don't, I can have it for my collection at home," he added.

"WHO WAS THE FIRST PRESIDENT IN THE WORLD?"

FIRST PRESIDENT OF OUR UNITED STATES WAS – GEORGE WASHINGTON. BUT WHO WAS THE FIRST PRESIDENT IN THE WORLD?

IN 1789, GEORGE WASHINGTON BECAME THE FIRST PRESIDENT OF OUR UNITED STATES. BUT WHO WAS THE FIRST PRESIDENT IN THE HISTORY OF THE WORLD?

GEORGE WASHINGTON.

WE WERE THE FIRST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

TO ELECT A PRESIDENT.

MOST ALL COUNTRIES HAD EMPERORS OR KINGS, AND SOME IN AMERICAWANTED GEORGE WASHINGTON TO BE OUR KING. BUT, HE REFUSED. HE SAID THERE SHOULD BE NO KING IN AMERICA BUT KING JESUS. WOW!

AND GEORGE WASHINGTON ESTABLISHED ANOTHER VERY IMPORTANT TRADITION.

ON THAT FIRST PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION DAY, HE SHOWED UP WITH A BIBLE AND GAVE HIS OATH OF OFFICE WHILE PLACING HIS HAND ON THAT OPEN BIBLE. AND THEN HE ENDED THAT OATH WITH THESE FOUR POWERFUL UNWRITTEN WORDS, “SO HELP ME GOD”.

I THANK GOD FOR GREAT GODLY PATRIOTS LIKE GEORGE WASHINGTON.
